My career as a Hereford Wedding Photographer has seen many, many fantastic weddings. The wedding of Harriet and Chris was one those weddings. From Bridal prep through to the night, it was full on. With glorious sunshine on a very hot (if not the hottest?) day of the year, everything was perfect.
Having a bar outside the church turned out to be a great idea as it gave everyone a refreshing drink as well as some much needed shade too. I had to take in a drink along with Marvin the videographer as I think we would have just melted under that sun.
When arriving at Lyde Arundel, the guests were ferried in on a vintage bus while I had asked Harriet and Chris to arrive on a different route so that we could grab some portraits. The tree lined route is perfect, not only for portraits but to allow the couple to get away from the crowd, for a few minutes at least.
Harriet and Chris had planned their day down to the smallest detail. Champagne tower, garden furniture, plenty of drinks and canapés. Their guests (and Chris) had another surprise after speeches, Singing Waiters! This went down a storm, as you’ll see in the photos. Lots of singing, dancing and waving, not just inside the barn but outside too.
Throughout the remainder of their day, Harriet and Chris relaxed and had fun with the guests and we also headed out for some more portraits. During the evening, they had the obligatory first dance, then after throwing shapes on the dance, everyone made their way outside for the sparkler shot.
I finished off the night with a small portrait session for Harriet and Chris then straight after, it was back to partying into the early hours for everyone.
Lyde Arundel is a gorgeous venue with beautiful barns and even more beautiful grounds. The gardens are in a great location which overlook the lake and the city of Hereford too.
