Herefordshire Marquee Wedding – Laura and Scott

Herefordshire Marquee Wedding

I loved working with Laura and Scott at their Herefordshire marquee wedding in August this year. They were such a cool laid back couple who just wanted a relaxed free flowing day with their family and friends and that’s what they had. Their marquee was set in Laura’s parents front garden and had been decorated by the couple themselves, including outside. A lot of the items were homemade and added that personal touch to their wedding day.

Laura spent the morning getting ready with her Bridesmaids and having a great time with family too. There was an air of warmth around with lots of hugs going on and plenty of smiles and laughter too. Laura’s Dad spent a while ensuring the the MG Midget (his own) was looking sharp as the plan was, if it rains Laura could be driven to church…. All of 100 yards, as the church was literally across the road. As it was, it didn’t rain so Laura and her girls along with Dad walked to the church.

The wedding

Scott was beaming whilst waiting for Laura, again so laid back but couldn’t wait for the arrival of his Bride to be. Once they were married and had the confetti shot it was time to go for a spin in the car. We had a plan for this, I would be driven along in front of Laura and Scott in an open top car taking photos of them driving along behind us. Luckily the rain held off until we had finished this and taken some portraits too.

Back to the Marquee

Guests waited and greeted Laura and Scott with a cheer in front of the marquee. After a few drinks and canapés then a few more photographs, the heavens opened, and I mean opened. Timing wise, it couldn’t have been better as everyone was heading back in to the marquee already. After the speeches and cake cutting, the rain had stopped and with guests wanting to use the games, a game of beer pong ensued. The rain did start again during this but I think the champagne was flowing too much to bother anyone.

Dancing

After their first dance and a few more drinks the dance floor filled up and guests partied. It was raining still and a few hardcore beer pong fans went and had another game in the dark. I then took Laura and Scott out for a night portrait, sheltering under the trees.

Thank you for having me as your photographer Laura and Scott, your wedding was a dream!
