Shropshire Wedding Party

Well it was 4th time lucky for Laura and Dan after the rotten time (don’t want to say it) over the previous 18 months. Their Shropshire Wedding was worth the wait though that’s for sure! It was evident from the start of the day that this was going to be a day of celebrations and laughter. The doom and gloom of the past 18 months was a distant memory today, now it was time to make up for it.

Laura and the girls were already having a great time when I arrived, a few drinks and some memories shared, resulting in lots of laughter. Hair and Make up being done and lots of activity around the house and garden.

Once hair and make up was almost done, the girls wanted to pop a bottle of fizz so we went outside and had a giggle with that and a few impromptu photos..oh and a Tik Tok which is the new wedding norm these days.

Everyone was in good spirits and made sure Laura was having the time of her life. A few more pics, then back to finishing getting ready for everyone.

Time For The First look.

I always love this moment, in fact it’s mostly my favourite time of the day. Never knowing how Dad will react, sometimes it’s tears, sometimes it’s a huge smile and others it’s a look in the eye. I always want this time to be a natural reaction so I set the scene and then let things flow whilst capturing the moment. On this occasion it was a first look for the Bridesmaids as well as Dad.

But first a couple of photos of everyone ready for the wedding. I try not to make these too formal and I am happy to have people talking and a bit of laughter in the images. I want everyone to remember the day, not me telling them what to do all of the time.

Ceremony

This was my first Shropshire Wedding ceremony in a church, all of the others have been in the venues so this was a nice change to that. A lovely little church tucked away in Orleton which is a picturesque village overlooked by farming land.

Laura and Dad arrived and were greeted by a few well wishers, quite an emotional location for Laura for personal reasons and a few tears were shed.

Dan waited nervously inside but once Laura arrived you could feel the tension lift and it was smiles all around again. Once the vows were done, they were both so relieved to have finally got there that they immediately punched the air in celebration.

Confetti and good times

Out for the confetti shot and still wearing the same huge smiles, Laura and Dan lived the moment and took it all in with a slow walk down the confetti line.

Time for The Shropshire Wedding Party

Laura and Dan made their way back to the marquee which was in the farmhouse garden. Their guests had already arrived so it was time to make their entrance and enjoy the rest of the day. Lots of hugs and lots of smiles whilst having a few drinks and canapés.

I always take a few group photos and especially like the Bridal party ones, even more so when you get a lively party like these guys.

After this Laura, Dan and I headed off to get some portraits of just the two of them. These are relaxed sessions and about the couple, not about rigid posing. Same as before, I want my couples to remember the day and not the camera.

Reception and speeches

Into the marquee for some speeches which were both emotional and funny. The it was time for everyone to eat and drink before chilling for a while in readiness for the party

The Golden Hour

The sun was setting over Orleton and it was a good time to get some more couple portraits of Laura and Dan. Nice and relaxed, again making it about the couple and how they were feeling.

Candids and Sparklers

After a few more candid photos, it was time for the sparkler shot. Another shot that I always enjoy, it brings everyone out and livens things up before the dancing starts. Not forgetting the cake cutting too and of course a bite has to be taken.

Time To Party!

The first dance with confetti cannons (a great idea by the Bridesmaids) then it’s time to get down.
