Lyde Arundel Wedding Photography - Stacey & Dan

Lyde Arundel wedding Photography. All weddings are fun but this was another one of those weddings that upped the stakes a little. (Seems to happen a lot at Lyde Arundel). Great moments of fun and a huge party to follow in the evening.

The Venue

I love shooting weddings at Lyde Arundel, the scenery is beautiful. Open views to one side, vineyard to the other and a beautiful lake to the front. If you have the weather you can have your ceremony outside on the front lawn and for this wedding they were lucky enough to do just that. Even if you don't have the weather, the barn is an ideal location for your ceremony too.

The Couple

I had met Stacey and Dan a few times before their wedding, including their engagement shoot. I found them to be a lot of fun and very much in love. Their engagement shoot was shot in a local orchard and can be seen here. Dan's marriage proposal to Stacey was something else, to cut a long story short. New house, Dan get's the keys early and spells will you marry me with candles on the floor surrounded by photos, true romantic? I think so :-)

The Wedding details

Stacey wore a Venice Lace dress by Justin Alexander from White Minx. With Pearl earrings & necklace along with her Mother's Saphire ring. The wedding had a Vintage, Shabby chic, rustic theme.

Dan and his Groomsmen wore suits from Bill child Formalwear.

Lyde Court Wedding Photography - Nathan & Emily

Lyde Court wedding photography. Lyde Court is a very rustic barn in North Herefordshire with open fields to either side. It is an ideal venue if you wan that laid back feel to your wedding. Within the grounds to the front is a floral garden area which offers great light in the evening. There is room for bridal preparation in the main house which is called the white room. There are also dorms for guests to stay overnight which can also be used for the groom to get ready on the morning of your wedding.

The Wedding

When I met Nathan & Emily to discuss their Lyde Court wedding I knew that they didn't like anything too traditional. Emily had chosen her dress due to it being a light less traditional one. She also wore a flower crown, boho style. Nathan wore a tailored jacket and waistcoat with black skinny jeans. They had both stressed that the wedding was going to be about them plus their family and friends enjoying the day.

The whole day was quite a laid back one with guests chilling whilst trying not to cook in the unbelievable heat. This was probably the hottest weekend of the year so far. The cool barn of Lyde Court come in very handy for a lot of the guests. During the day the amazing Hey Yahs (my favourite wedding band) played some relaxed tunes. Nathan and Emily's two boys of course were a big part of their day in and you could see they were such a close family. Nathan even proposed with the help of their son after a day out at Winter Wonderland, which was a nice touch.

Hereford Cathedral Wedding

Hereford Cathedral wedding.

Annie & James got in touch to make an enquiry about me being their wedding photographer. I had no idea that I was about to book the biggest and most fun Hereford Cathedral wedding that I have ever seen. Annie in her Justin Alexander dress and James both had tears in their eyes as Annie made her way up the aisle. They couldn’t help but snuggle up to each other throughout their ceremony and there were a few tears from guests too.

The Reception

The amazing reception was held at the beautiful Lyde Arundel. The venue had been decorated by the equally amazing Couture Events. It really showed the fun personalities of Annie and James. Gin, chocolates, sweets and more Gin. This along with framed photos, candles, flowers and the amazing cupcake tower made by Annie’s Mum.

The reception held a bit of a surprise for the guests as they were treated to singing waitresses just before dessert. They introduced themselves rather cleverly by dropping some cutlery and making a scene. Then bursting into song and getting everyone else singing and dancing into the evening. The singing and dancing even spilling out into the courtyard too.

Their first dance was cleverly choreographed by Annie’s Mum who teaches dance and they both did an excellent job. This then led onto a surprise performance by one of their guests (the one and only Chesney Hawkes). This went down a treat for everyone whilst he performed along with the excellent Hey Yahs. The whole place was rocking.

Annie & Jay

These guys were made for each other which you could see from the moment I met them, their engagement shoot and of course their wedding day. Annie & Jay, I had a blast!

Engagement shoot

Engagement Shoot

I loved this engagement shoot with Nathan and Emily which was in the grounds of a derelict farmhouse. The farm was owned by Nathan's Grandmother and had been left empty for a few years now. It had some great areas for photos with amazing light especially in the barns. Nathan and Emily certainly rocked their shoot with a great attitude about them both. We made our way around the grounds which brought back memories of Nathan's childhood as he would quite often spend time at this farm as a kid. The whole shoot was relaxed and fun and of course it was a beautiful day too

The upcoming wedding

Their wedding will be at Lyde court in June this year. Lyde court is a rustic barn venue in he north of Herefordshire. See this previous Lyde Court Wedding where I was the wedding photographer. I have shot quite a number of weddings at this venue and love the look and feel of the place.

Engagement in an herefordshire orchard

Engagement Session

Engagement Session.

I always use the engagement session to help the couple get over any nerves about having their photo taken. With Dan & Stacey, there were no nerves, just a relaxed attitude with a good sense of humour. For Dan & Stacey's engagement session we used a little orchard that is hidden away in north Herefordshire. I love this little secluded place as in the evenings it has this beautiful soft light falling across the trees. The colours on the trees at this time of year make the scene even more stunning. The evening of their shoot was warm with a bit of hazy sunshine which was perfect for this type of shoot.

The Wedding.

Their wedding will be at Lyde Arundel which is an amazing venue. It is a barn conversion that has been done to a very high standard and boasts beautiful gardens and scenery. You can see previous weddings from Lyde Arundel in other parts of my blog, take a look if you are looking for a venue. I love shooting weddings at Lyde Arundel, not only because of the surroundings but Lydia who runs Lyde Arundel is the perfect host.

Lyde Court Wedding - Sophie & Jon

Lyde Court Wedding

Sophie & Jon's Lyde Court wedding in Herefordshire  was a fantastic occasion in August 2016, Lyde Court is a very rustic venue that caters very well for those that want the country style wedding and looks amazing with all of the decoration in place with very intimate lighting.

My day started with Sophie and her bridesmaids at Sophie's parents house in the conservatory under the warm August sunshine whilst the girls prepared, the girls were drinking champagne whilst having their hair and make up done and were very relaxed an enjoying the moment. Jon in the meantime was waiting patiently with his groomsmen at Lyde Court having a morning tipple, to calm the nerves I expect.

Sophie looked amazing in her dress and Jon along with his groomsmen wore their Army uniforms, Jon who is the Captain of the British Army Motorcycle Display team had some of the motorcycles at the wedding which drew some impromptu photo opportunities for some of the guests.

Sophie and John shared a great sense of fun and were so into each other which was evident during their engagement shoot too, it was a pleasure to be your Hereford wedding photographer on such a great day guys!
